About Me
Greetings,
As you are aware by now, my name is Abe Wall. I was born in a Mennonite colony in Durango, Mexico in the late 1960’s. I lived in the colony until 1973, when we moved to Canada. Life in Canada would come to be very different than that of the colony. We spoke Low-German, lived simply and were fairly separated from the world around us. In Canada, adjustments had to be made through language, climate and society in general. While adjusting, I continued to show interest in expression through creative means. It was easy to wile away the hours drawing, painting or imagining what I would attempt next. My passion would increase as would my focus. I studied art during my post-secondary life and have pursued it’s many paths. I, as most artists, am consumed by the need to create. My journey has been challenging at times, but the rewards have always outweighed the obstacles.
